About Beck: Personal Trainer and Somatic Coach

Welcome! I'm Beck, and I'm glad you've found your way here.

My work as a personal trainer and embodiment coachis rooted in a lifelong journey of healing, discovery, and movement. I’ve spent over 12 years—and more than 12,000 hours—walking alongside people as they navigate their relationships with their bodies, health, and sense of self.

I’m proud to be intersex, transgender, queer, and neurodivergent. These lived experiences shape everything I do. My work is also shaped by my lineage: My ancestors were teachers, gardeners, engineers, laborers, farmers, and artists—people who moved, built, and made meaning with their hands. I now live in Portland, Oregon (on land long tended by the Cowlitz people) with my partner Amy and two cats, part of a vibrant human and more-than-human ecosystem.

I've navigated a lifelong path of self-discovery and healing, moving through challenges like shame, social anxiety, and chronic pain. Movement became my sanctuary, a space where I could connect authentically with my body, the environment, and remember that I am nature.

Over time, my practice has evolved from outcome-oriented training to something more expansive: a space for curiosity, aging, resilience, and play. Along the way, I’ve studied functional fitness, somatics, psychedelic integration, and nature and forest therapy. I even owned a gym, Sweet Momentum Fitness, here in Portland.

When we work together, it’s not just about sets and reps. It’s about meeting your body where it is, exploring what moves you, and making space for big questions—whether your goals is to get stronger, live with less pain, reconnect with movement, or simply feel more like yourself.

So what about you? What are your goals? What do you long for?
Let’s begin there.

The studio is sometimes occupied by one of the members of our feline support team. Not a cat person? Bringing a service dog? Let me know during our initial session and I’ll make sure they aren’t around when we’re working together.

  • Get to know Smudge and you’ll find out he loves to cuddle and enjoys learning new skills and tricks. He’s been known for his intuition—he seems to show up at just the right moments. He can take a while to warm up, and usually likes to watch sessions from the loft or a bed above the bookcase.

  • Dr. B is a two year old maine coon rescue. She’s very social and is rarely phased by the new happenings in the studio. She’s got a ton of energy and a 5’ jump. She’s not super into cuddling, but isn’t mean about it. You can find her looking out the window, stalking any bugs that get in, and laying on the loft.
