An Ecological Practice

Welcome! I'm Beck, and I'm glad you've found your way here.

My work as a personal trainer and embodiment coach is rooted in a lifelong journey of discovery and movement. I’ve spent 14 years—and more than 13,000 hours—walking alongside people as they navigate their relationships with their bodies, health, and sense of self. I’m also a student therapist at River's Way, where I’m completing my clinical internship as part of my graduate training in counseling psychology.

I’m proud to be intersex, transgender, queer, and neurodivergent. These lived experiences shape everything I do. My work is also shaped by my lineage: my ancestors were teachers, gardeners, engineers, laborers, farmers, and artists; people who moved, built, and made meaning with their hands. I now live in Portland, Oregon, on land long tended by the Cowlitz people, and am part of a vibrant human and more-than-human ecosystem.

I've navigated a lifelong path of self-discovery, moving through experiences of shame, social anxiety, and chronic pain. Movement became my sanctuary: a space where I could connect authentically with my body and the environment, and remember that I am nature.

Over time, my practice has evolved from outcome-oriented training toward something more process-oriented and expansive: a space for curiosity, aging, resilience, and play. Along the way, I’ve studied functional fitness, somatics, psychedelic integration, and nature and forest therapy, and my current work is increasingly influenced by Processwork. I even owned a gym, Sweet Momentum Fitness, here in Portland.

When we work together, it can be about more than sets and reps. It’s about meeting your body where it is, exploring what moves you, and noticing what it’s like to be in relationship with movement, the environment, and one another as part of the process.

So what about you? What are your goals? What do you long for?

Let’s begin there.

The studio is sometimes occupied by one of the members of our feline support team. Not a cat person? Bringing a service dog? Let me know during our initial session and I’ll make sure they aren’t around when we’re working together.
